Great progress has been made so far for the cultivation and management of cannabis in Ghana. A Legislative Instrument (LI) has been laid by parliament for the president of the republic to emphasize. Quite recently however the legislative instrument (LI 2475) of the narcotics control commission has been signed by the president and is available in card copy to stakeholders in the cannabis industry.
This is a great milestone that is about to change the economic fortunes of the country. Agro Canncom is here to demystify all the myths associated with this new industry and help the government of Ghana to educate the general public about the use, benefits and consequences of abuse of medical cannabis. It is our hope that our education will go a long way to change the mindset and perspectives of the Ghanaian community in a way that medical cannabis will be seen as an agricultural commodity with huge benefits instead of a narcotic drug with many regulations and abuse. Once medical cannabis is seen as an agricultural commodity, the level of hidden abuse will reduce and the youth will gradually move from smoking the herb and hiding from the police to legally growing or cultivating the herb for medical and industrial purposes.
